Rock and Ride
Take your iPod and bicycle on the road in comfort and safety with the Slipstreamz Slip. The Slip clips onto your bicycle helmet and covers your ears to deflect wind turbulence, greatly reducing irritating wind noise that can damage hearing over time. The Slip also helps keep your ears warm on cool days.
As a result of the wind deflection away from the ears, the Slip enhances riders' ability to hear traffic sounds, increasing their awareness of events surrounding them. The Slip is designed to hold iPod ear buds within the slip and out of riders' ear canals. The Slip provides cyclists with the safest way to ride your bike with or without an iPod.
Features:
- Deflects irritating and damaging wind from ears.
- Easily attaches to bike helmets.
- Listen to music safely and comfortably while not blocking out traffic sounds.

I got these primarily for reducing wind noise. I suffer from tinnitus which is worse after long rides due to wind noise. They definitely reduce the noise to a degree. However, they can't compete with a strong headwind. They work as advertised. No more. No less.

Using the Slip with Hearing Aids

As an avid cyclist who wears hearing aids, I've searched for a year or so for something that would block the wind when I ride, yet still allow sound to my ear. I then came across The Slip and opted to give it a try. The Slip can be difficult to put on and by no means is a quick process, especially if you are trying to use it with hearing aids. Once the Slip is attached, you then have to adjust the placement of them (left side & ride side) to decrease the amount of feedback the hearing aid gives off. I was successful the very first time with one ear, but am still having trouble with the other, as the Slip has to sit in exactly the right place to work well. I did ride yesterday for over 40 miles with the Slip on one ear and it made a HUGE difference!! If I can fine-tune the placement of the other side it would be a success! However, I do question the duribility of the Slip as the miles accumulate and am unsure as to how long they may last, but once you get them on, they are certianly helpful, especially if you can get them to work with your hearing aids. It certianly made a world of difference for one ear during my riding... now if I can just get the other side to line up right for decent performace...

I love it. The only thing hooking it up to the helmet a bit tricky.

The Slip works as advertised.
I entire process of installation took about ten minutes. Just read the directions and it's easy.
The only reason I don't give it a 5-star is because there is still some wind noise....but, hey, nothings perfect.

I will be honest I did not buy the slip for the wind reduction. I bought it so I could listen to my ipod. I did not like the way I was cut off while haveing headphones in my ears. Over all I can listen to my music without a radio straped to my handlbars, yet hear the car on my left side. The wind reduction is there. It states wind REDUCTION. When a gust of wind hits you, you hear it. The purpose is wind reduction not removal.
The slip went onto my helmet in like 10 maybe 15 min. READ THE DIRECTIONS. The one hold up I had was that it says insert knot into slit. (this is for the elestaic strap to hold down the back side of the earpiece) there is a disk. My first thought was slide the disk though. no slide knot though.
It does not seem real easy to remove the ipod earbud once it is attached. You do not have to take it all appart if you look at it. The ear bud can pop out slip under the elastic strap and out but its tedious. I am considering buying another set of ipod earbuds. I think that this will be nice on cold days to keep the ears warm. I do not think they will be nice on cold days. earmuffs on cold days.
They are cheap. I am guessing a good year maybe two of abuse and I will need a new set. But the pricetag is not bad for them being not the highest quality. Now they are not bargin bin gonna break in a week. Wear and Tear will take its toll eventualy.
